As part of Master of Professional Accounting degree, you will have access to MIT's industry based Capstone Project:
MIT’s School of Business have designed this unit to provide you with 'Work-Ready' skills through 150 hours of project work. You will be working with Industry client and solving the real-world challenges faced by clients in the Accounting field. You will research, develop, test and present your solution in an industry accepted format through the use of Project Management tools.

The Master of Professional Accounting aims to provide graduates who will:
Small classes provide an interactive learning climate where students are able to interact with Lecturers in lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials. Further, graduates will demonstrate superior business communication skills by completion of a unit in professional Communication in Trimester 1 followed by a further Unit in Professional Communication in Trimester 3.
In order to graduate from the Master of Professional Accounting students must complete 16 units (240 credit points). Each unit is worth 15 credit points and full-time students undertake 4 units per semester.
Graduates of the Graduate Diploma of Accounting can be admitted into the second year of the program with 120 Credit Points.

Program structures and units are subject to change through the process of regular course revision. There is no guarantee that every unit will be offered in any particular trimester.
MA501 Foundations of Accounting and MA509 Accounting Information Systems utilise cloud-based accounting software. When studying these units, the student will incur a fee per unit (currently $33) for access to the cloud-based accounting software. The student is responsible for payment of the fee.
It is mandatory for awarding of the Master of Professional Accounting degree that the student undertake the final trimester MA618 Industry Based Capstone Project unit. If a third party is required to find a project for the student, the student will incur a fee (currently $330). The industry based project is designed to provide students with real world experience, working for an industry client on a project focussed within their discipline of study.

The Master of Professional Accounting is accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) - www.teqsa.gov.au.
The Master of Professional Accounting course is accredited by CPA Australia (CPAA) (see www.cpacareers.com.au), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ)(see www.charteredaccountants.com.au), and IPA - Institute of Public Accountants (see www.publicaccountants.org.au). Upon successful completion of the course graduates will be eligible to apply for associate membership of both CPAA and IPA; and entry to both the CPA Program of CPAA and the CA Program of CA ANZ.

Applicants must have successfully completed the equivalent of a 3 year Australian Bachelor degree and have a demonstrated language competence with an IELTS of 6.5 overall with no individual band below 6.0
Mature age applicants can be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis having regard to prior study, employment and professional experience.
